ma fleur

there is a house built out of stone
wooden floors, walls, and window sills
tables and chairs worn by all of the dust

this is a place where i don't feel alone
this is a place where i feel at home

and i built a home for you, for me
until it disappeared from me, from you
and now it's time to leave and turn to dust

out in the garden where we planted the seeds
there is a tree as old as me
branches were sewn by the colour of green
ground had arose and passed it's knees

by the cracks of its skin, i climbed to the top
i climbed the tree to see the world

when the gust came around to blow me down
i held on as tightly as you held onto me
i held on as tightly as you held onto me

and i built a home for you, for me
until it disappeared from me, from you
and now it's time to leave and turn to dust...

sleep

they call coney island the playground of the world.
there was no place like it, in the whole world,
like coney island
when i was a youngster.
no place in the world like it,
it was so fabulous.
now it shrunk down to almost nothing.
you see,
i still remember in my mind
how things used to be.
and you know,
i feel very bad.
when people from all over the world came here,
it was a playground... they call it the playground of the world.
when i was very small, i even got lost in coney island.
but they found me
on the beach.
we used to sleep on the beach here,
sleep over night.
they don't do it anymore.
things change.
they don't sleep anymore on the beach.
